Awhile ago I teased your mind with this amazing culinary masterpiece. However, I never told you how to make it. Here’s how you can make this amazing and tasteful snack, or meal, or appetizer (You get the point).
1 lb of Agaricus Mushrooms
A lot of your favorite cheeses, finely shredded(no more than a cup)(I used cheddar, ricotta, and mozzarella)
Your favorite Vegetables finely diced (I used spinach , red bell peppers, and onions (I ❤ onions))
Your favorite meat, pre-cooked (Bacon is a common choice, but you can use anything really)
Sour cream (optional)
STEP 1) Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees.
STEP 2) Carefully remove the stems from the mushrooms cap (tops) without breaking the cap in half (it’s okay if you do, just put it back together when filling it, it should stick together after cooking. Don’t beat yourself up if it happens, it’s okay) and clean caps.
STEP 3) Finely dice the mushroom stems.
STEP 4) (Optional) Place mushroom tops on a baking sheet and bake for 8 minutes or until water begins to spurt water. Then, remove from oven and discard the water.
- While Mushrooms are baking, begin Step 5.
STEP 5) Place the finely diced stems in a non-stick skillet and cook for 5 minutes stirring occasionally.
STEP 6) In a medium sized bowl (or any bowl size the can fit your ingredients), mix together stems, vegetables, and meat and half of your chosen cheese.
STEP 7) Begin to fill you mushroom caps with the mixed ingredients (try not to over or under-stuff)
STEP 8) Sprinkle the remainder of the cheeses on top of the mushrooms.
STEP 9) Grease your baking sheet with olive oil and bake for 20 minutes or until cheese melt and brown.
- Sprinkle breadcrumbs before baking for a more crispier bite
- Anything you think can be stuffed into the cap can be used
